Who Moved My Shoes?

My mother dragged me out of bed this morning(as I'm typing this, it's still very much the middle of the night-7.50am) and said, "Your Adidas shoes are gone!"

I lazily arisen from my bed and vaguely thought about what the first class for the day was and I felt completely awake when I remembered that today was in fact a Saturday.

She repeated herself, "Where are your shoes? I saw the box lying empty on the floor!"

I told my mum I clearly remember strutting over to the shoe cabinet to keep my adidas trainers before going back into the house after dance class yesterday. Yes, I remember it very clearly.

The both of us hurried down to look for the shoes, and true enough, it could not be found. What puzzled me most was, why just a pair of shoes? Not my father's nice leather working shoes? Why not my Reef flip flops too if you're gonna take something branded? And how in Fuck's name did the fucker manage to come into my house?!?!

How can a 2 and a half year old pair of Adidas trainers (shit, they were Climacools too.) yellowing at the clear rubber corners be of any value!? WHY?!!

The shoes had a value of RM299.00. If the shoes CAN be sold, it won't even be enough to send him back to whichever fucking kampung he fucking came from on a taxi. If I had paid for the shoes with my own money, I'd be crying a river now. But it was free. Yes, so good things don't last. *sigh*.

Somewhere in the middle of 2003, Climacools were hot. And I, Jolene Lai, won a pair. Youth 2 had a contest in conjunction with the release of the movie Anger Management and we were to write what how we were going to provide an angry friend with Anger management. I thought for awhile. I started to cut out photos of Britney's head, thought bubbles of Justin Timberlake, a baboon's body and a write up about how my friend Marcus (who loved Britney, then) would be traumatize into those nasty thoughts about his favourite singer. I even changed the lyrics to Lucky(She's so sucky, she's so flat, so she stuffs stuff stuff in her big flat chest, thinking) to add salt to the wound. And guess what? As weak as that sounds, I won the grand prize!!

A coupon for an RM299 Climacool shoe was sent to my house alongside two free tickets for Anger Management. Elated, that very weekend my father drove us down to KLCC for me to collect my shoes. My first real branded trainers.(It was Power before this). 100% free too!!

The day I bought my shoes was the same day I saw Douglas Lim with his girlfriend in KLCC and actually talked to him.(that's a story for another day).

I hope that the fucker who stole my shoes actually fell into the drain on his way out of my house and doesn't know that he is suffering from a brain haemorrage. He will so suffer from mental disorder and go around with cymbals and my shoes slung around his neck screaming while clashing the cymbals,"I stole this shoes!! *dong, dong, dong*. It's Me. It's Me Who stole this shoes!! *dong, dong, dong*.".. I will then, from my bedroom window take my bow and arrow and aim at his brain. He will thank me for ending his misery and at the same time removing his blood clot. Or more like he will WANT to thank me. No chance, fucker, no fucking chance. You steal my shoes, I blow your brains. Hey, that's life.

Just a warning here people, there could be a shoe thief loose in SS18, Subang Jaya. Be aware, be very aware.

My shoes were not even Manolos or Jimmy Choos!!(like in which lifetime will I actually buy myself a pair).

*goes off to find mum to discuss about getting a new pair of trainers*

Hi, my name is Jolene and if there is a question in your head, this answer will definitely answer it: I was wrong and irrational. I was being a woman.

Jolene Lai, Jolene Lai,
Came to life in January and not July,
She is 19 years of age,
Can't wait to earn her own wage,
This dental student is home sick,
Will never be in Kedah for more than three weeks.

Subang Jaya is where she's from,
The only place she'll ever call home.
Has a boyfriend, a brother and a dog,
The things she says can give you a shock.

Especially for her father, who always gets a heart attack when he reads this blog.

Hey, rhymes!
