Auntie Lai

Yesterday I went back to school AGAIN. It's quite sad to see an old lady like me frequenting her old secondary school, I'm sure. Sort of like a "Gee, doesn't she have any other kind of life?" *sob* I do, I do. Just that Esther keeps making SU the meeting place to meet before heading out for lunch. To top it off, I wore my yesterday's top with another skirt today because I didn't go out right after coming back from school yesterday. Malu nye..

Ying Quan arranged to have lunch with me and Esther (and we roped David and Kim Zen in). Before going to fetch Ying Quan from ADP, I went to school as Esther wanted me to drop Mabel Chan(Nicholas's Sister) home. Min Dee offered to drop her home as it was on the way for her and she also wanted to say Hi to Mr. Chan. Aww! So after saying my thanks, I rushed off to get Ying Quan. It was nice catching up with that dude.. he says so many nice things! Ever so polite! We parked my car across the pedestrian bridge from our school as we wanted to have lunch in SS19 therefore we didn't bother to drive over to SS18.

As I was climbing up the stairs, two junior girls(I think form3/4/5) passed by Ying Quan(who was a few steps ahead of me).

One of them asked, "Your mother ar?!"

WHAT?!

Ying Quan was rendered speechless. LOL. He couldn't explain himself and he reeled around and nervously asked me if I heard anything. Then I said, "Yala, I'm your mother".

#$)$%($%^@#_@*^&#$%_%*..!!

Firstly, Ying Quan is MY age. LOL. Even though he is one year my junior and he himself said before that he doesn't feel like he's the same as me, STILL! We're both born in 1987!!! LOL.. GEeZ! Yeah! So I'm sure I could have given birth to a son at 7 months of age?! Silly girls. Funny it didn't ruin my day, but it kept me chuckling through. To quote Esther again: maturity. I'm an Auntie what! Remember?! Grrr.

Ahahaha.. went back into the school and told those who were there. Esther was like saying "Aiyo, for me total opposite. Alot of people still thinks I'm in school." Then I said, "Die la, must straighten hair to make myself look younger."

LOL. Good times do not last. At night Esther messaged me on MSN telling me that one of her brother's friends thought she was his mother. LOL. She was quite pissed. Then she said, "Jo, straighten hair also no use lah." To which I suggested, "Yalo, time to cut our hair as short and as funky as possible." We both quickly disagreed on that as we might actually be mistaken for, "eh, your father ar?!"

Oh yeah, another sales assistant complaint. Yesterday when I was walking into the Body Shop, Sunway Pyramid with Esther, a sales assistant greeted us with a "Welcome to Body Shop" but turning away as soon as she us and her greeting was directed at us but she was looking elsewhere. Like what the hell?! Geez. Somemore she had that "bitch-duh-uh" look. Perhaps she thinks we're kids and deserve little respect. Well, we'll take it as a consolation after what we have gone through during the day.

Oh look at the time, I'm dued at Dennis' birthday lunch. He has turned 21. I suppose only aunties and uncles will be there. Even me, the youngest(17-for a week more only), is considered an Aunty. Die.

Ouch! I had a slightly better encounter - I was called "uncle" when I worked in Parade 4 years ago. 16-yr old uncle, hoho.

Hi, my name is Jolene and if there is a question in your head, this answer will definitely answer it: I was wrong and irrational. I was being a woman.

Jolene Lai, Jolene Lai,
Came to life in January and not July,
She is 19 years of age,
Can't wait to earn her own wage,
This dental student is home sick,
Will never be in Kedah for more than three weeks.

Subang Jaya is where she's from,
The only place she'll ever call home.
Has a boyfriend, a brother and a dog,
The things she says can give you a shock.

Especially for her father, who always gets a heart attack when he reads this blog.

Hey, rhymes!
